Two graphs

  1. When it comes to the UK's much-hyped economic recovery, one sobering graph is worth a thousand over-excited headlines (via).
  2. Now that we're suitably sobered up, let's see how much money Amazon's (not) making. Either the stock market really isn't driven by short-termism, after all, and investors have been funding a five year plan to flood the market with loss-leaders, until all that pesky market competition has been destroyed and there is only one Universal Store left, or Amazon really is 'a charitable organization being run by elements of the investment community for the benefit of consumers.'
