The UK economy grew by only 0.2 percent in the second quarter of the
year. Apparently, the disappointing figures are being blamed on a number of factors, including the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, a warmer than usual April, the Japanese earthquake and tsunami and the start of ticket sales
for the 2012 Olympic Games.
In short, as David Blanchflower said on the radio today, the government have a 'no-growth strategy and a lot of excuses.'
