Well here's a thing I didn't know about Prince Felix Yusupov, the guy who killed Rasputin:
From 1909 to 1913, he studied Forestry and later English at University College, Oxford, where he was a member of the Bullingdon Club, and established the Oxford Russian Club.As the Reverend Richard Coles (to whom I'm indebted for this unexpected biographical titbit) tweeted recently:
It is the 150th anniversary of the birth of Rasputin [tweeted on the 21st of January]. He became so influential over the Russian royal family that in 1916 he was assassinated by Prince Felix Yusupov of the Bullingdon Club, an early example of its members’ fondness for intervening clumsily in political affairs.Enough said...
Dinner parties hosted by people like this have been ending very badly since at least 1916... |
